How to Use an Air Fryer: A First-Timer's Guide
May 21

Since I published this blog, many Bagotte fans have sent emails telling me, as a novice, how to use the air fryer? How do they work? Is it really frying?
Without further ado, here is the answer for you.
The working principle of the air fryer is "high-speed air circulation technology". It generates hot air by heating the heat pipe in the machine at a high temperature, and then uses a fan to blow the high-temperature air into the pot to heat the food, so that the hot air circulates in a closed space. Use the fat of the food itself to fry the food, thereby dehydrating the food, and the surface becomes golden and crispy, achieving the effect of frying. So, you can think of the air fryer as a simple oven with a fan.

Important Tips to Keep in Mind When You Use an Air Fryer
●Put the grate in the basket
This allows hot air to circulate around the food, and also keeps the food from sitting in excess oil.
●Preheat your air fryer
Preheating in advance can make your air fryer cook evenly.
If your air fryer does not have a preheat setting, just rotate it to the desired temperature and let it run for about 3 minutes before adding food.
●Oil the air fryer basket
Even if your food does not need oil, you can apply some grease on the fryer basket to ensure that your food does not stick to the pan.
●Never use aerosol spray cans in your air fryer
Aerosol spray cans are easy to cause cracks in the air fryer basket, and are also very irritating, and cannot be combined with the coating of most fryer baskets.
●Don’t overcrowd the basket
If you want to make fried foods crispy, make sure your basket is not crowded.
Put water or bread at the bottom to prevent white smoke from coming out.
Don’t be surprised if you are cooking greasy food in an air fryer and see white smoke coming out.
To solve this problem, just pour a little water (about 2 tablespoons) into the bottom of the basket, it will stop smoking and your food will continue to cook.
If you are afraid of spilling a lot of fat during cooking, you can put a piece of bread on the bottom to absorb the fat.
●Be careful of small items in the air fryer
Each air fryer component is equipped with a powerful fan on its top.
This can cause some lighter objects to be rolled up in the fan, which is very dangerous.
●Adjust the temperature of certain foods
Sometimes, turn the heat of the air fryer to the maximum temperature and let it run. But be careful, because some food can dry up quickly. For example, if you cook brownie in the oven for 20 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit, reduce the air fryer to 320 degrees and cook for about 16 minutes.

1. When the air fryer is used up, separate the top and bottom of the air fryer.
2. Clean the top with a damp cloth. After cleaning, air dry. Do not wash the bottom directly with water. Use a paper towel to clean the oil.
3. After washing both parts, let them dry and then cover.
4. Do not wash the air fryer when it is dirty. You can clean it with a rag after using it.
5. Don't use the pot for a long time, otherwise it will easily stick to the oil stains and not clean.
6. Clean it in time when it is used up, otherwise it will be difficult to clean the oil if it sticks for too long.
